Professional Flight Centre, founded in 2005, aspires to provide all of our students with an airline-quality training environment. Our devotion to our students is demonstrated by our 17-year track record of training Private and Commercial Pilots.

Our facilities includes a reception area where signing in and out of flights occur, briefing and de-brief rooms with state of the art visual and audio aids to assist with a suitable training environment, SACAA approved examination center and a deck area overlooking the airport so you never miss your favourite plane flying by!

What is a PPL?

A PPL is a “Private Pilot Licence”. The holder of a PPL is a fully fledged pilot in every sense of the word. You may fly with friends, family or associates, not at night and with no remuneration. The training entails a minimum of 45 hours training.

What is a Night Rating?

This is an additional course done after your PPL, which enables you to fly at night. While conducting night training, you will learn the basics of instrument flying and the dangers associated with night flying. Night rating is a additional 10 hours of training.

What is a CPL?

A CPL is a “Commercial Pilot License“ and entitles the holder of such license to make flying his or her career. Understandably this requires more training, a minimum of 200 hours (Night Rating Required). This license enables your to fly for remuneration.

How long will my training take?

PPL full time - approximately 8 to 12 weeks
PPL part time - approximately 3 to 4 months
Night Rating - approximately 2 to 3 weeks
Commercial full time - approximately 15 to 18 months
Commercial part time - approximately 24 to 30 months 

What is a IF rating?

Instrument flying “IF” is a rating for a special purpose, which enables you to fly with reference solely to the instruments in the cockpit. This is normally used for navigation through adverse weather know as instrument meteorological condition (IMC).

Are there bursaries available at Professional Flight Centre?

Unfortunately Professional Flight Centre does not offer any financial aid towards your training. We however assist our students with the necessary documentation required to apply for a study load at your local bank.
Professional Flight Centre is pleased to participate in a number of international student exchange programs.

Professional Flight Centre has trained a variety of students throughout the world. Students from Botswana, Nigeria, Zambia, France, Uganda and Germany are amongst them.

We support our international students by providing them with all of the papers they need to apply for a study VISA, as well as arranging housing and transportation to and from our institution.

Grade II and III Flight Instructor Position

To apply for a pilot position at Professional Flight Centre you should meet the following requirements:

  • Current SACAA CPL(A)
  • Current SACAA GR II Instructors Rating
  • Current SACAA GR III Instructors Rating
  • Instructor rated on a C172 preferred
  • Must be willing to work on weekend and public holidays
  • Hard working & dedicated
