The Multi-Engine rating can be started at any time, although it is typically completed towards the end of the commercial license and instrument rating training. To begin their multi-rating, students must have completed a minimum of 150 hours and passed all theoretical assessments.
For the initial rating, a minimum of 6 hours is required. These hours are extended to 15 hours when training is paired with instrument rating. All Multi-Engine training is completed on either a Piper Comanche or Piper Seneca II Turbo. A SACAA Designated Flight Examiner (DFE).
